The Playing Field Has Changed…

Simply put, technology has revolutionized how we buy and sell real estate.

That’s a powerful statement.  Studies show that nearly 90% of buyers and sellers use the internet to search for homes, or to research home values in their neighborhood before they decide to sell.    Today’s consumers are tech-savvy, and they demand real-time information and intelligent data analysis at their fingertips.   They certainly aren’t going to find that kind of information on the side of a phone booth, or on a shopping cart.

The White Oaks Blog is a testament to how real estate leverages technology to empower today’s real estate consumer.   On this site, you’ll find a free, powerful home search tool that allows you to search San Carlos by neighborhood or by price range with a single click of the mouse.  You’ll also find information about San Carlos Schools, developments in our downtown area, and real estate analysis that you could only get from someone who knows San Carlos from the inside.

What you won’t find are cookie recipes, silly pictures on the side of phone booths and shopping carts, nor cute tag lines.

I encourage you to use all of the tools available to you on this blog.  There’s no registration required, and nobody will contact you unless you wish to be.    And when it comes time to buying or selling a home in San Carlos, you’ll be armed with valuable information you won’t find anywhere else.

Who is Chuck Gillooley?

I am a Realtor with Alain Pinel Realtors, and a resident of the San Francisco Peninsula for the past 44 years…long before the term “Silicon Valley” was coined. For the past 18 years, I have lived in the White Oaks neighborhood of San Carlos. As you can tell from my posts, I am very passionate about this part of the world. I think San Carlos is one of the greatest places on the planet — that’s why I live in White Oaks, and why I love to share what I know about it with you.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and I proudly bring 20+ years of successful high-tech sales experience to the real estate field. I also believe in giving back to the community that I call home.   I proudly serve the San Carlos community as a Board Member of the Sequoia High School Education Foundation, and you can also find me on the soccer field as a volunteer coach and referee for San Carlos AYSO.

What do my clients think of me?

Providing outstanding service is the hallmark of my business.  I strive to ensure that every transaction handled in the utmost professional manner, and that my clients feel thrilled with the service they received.   Here’s just a sample of what some of my clients have said about their experience:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for a great job.  You have definitely met my expectations of a professional Realtor.  You kept me completely up to date each step of the way prior to going on the market, while we were on the market, during the open houses, and as the interest of potential buyers grew.  Your professional attitude during the presentation of offers and handling of each agent after we decided on the best offer for us was very assuring to me.  I would not hesitate to recommend you to my family or friends.” — Sharon S.,  San Carlos

Chuck did way over what I expected him to do – even vacuuming the carpets before an open house!  But the best thing about Chuck is that he is a caring, considerate, and helpful – and just an all-around nice guy.   I already told him that if the need arose, I’d use him again. — Joanne E. – San Carlos

Chuck is an incredibly friendly, polite and respectful person with a very accommodating personality, which translates well into his work as a Realtor.  As my Realtor for my first home purchase, Chuck was not only very professional, but very thorough.  He’s well adept at using all forms of technology to get any possible information you may need on a home.  Even though I ended up purchasing in San Bruno, Chuck’s knowledge of the Redwood City / San Carlos area is incredible and allowed me to gauge what would be the best fit in my price range.  He was never pushy and rarely offered his own opinions unless they were asked for. During our escrow period Chuck was on the ball, making sure everything from inspections to the mortgage was taken care of in a prompt and efficient manner.

I’ve been my new home over three weeks and I have Chuck to thank for the great deal I got.  If anyone asks me for advice on a Realtor in the peninsula area, Chuck will be the first person I mention, no doubt about it!! — Ken P.,  San Bruno

I have significant experience working with professionals in the corporate world and I was very impressed by the amount of preparation (Chuck) put into each house hunting trip.  He clearly operates at the highest level of professionalism, and he treated these first time buyers, who are working with a limited budget, as though they were buying the largest piece of property in the Bay Area.   Chuck is an ALL STAR in our eyes.” — Stephen M., Carmel, CA

…Service couldn’t have been better!  Thank you! — David L. and Sally R., Pacifica

I enjoy cycling, running, and most of all being involved with my family. My wife Patty and I are raising three children in San Carlos, and we’re very involved in community activities.   It would be an honor to help you buy or sell a home in the area that I call home.

I am just a phone call or an email away…
