The new condo/retail development that’s been going up at 1001 Laurel Street in San Carlos has garnered much attention from the residents of San Carlos.   There’s no shortage of opinions about this development and other developments that I have written about that are in the works for San Carlos.

Matteson Development Partners just launched the new website for 1001 Laurel today, so now you can see the different floor-plans that will be offered when these units become available in the spring.  Units will range from 1BR/1BA to 3BR/3BA.  There’s also information on the various amenities and the layout of the building as well.

..and let us know what you think, of course!

Any word on what retail establishments might occupy the ground level?

  2. Chuck says:

    Hi John,

Last I checked with them in November they were still in discussions with a couple of interested retailers, but nothing had been signed. I just emailed them again to get an update — I’ll let you know if anything has changed.

    Thanks for your comment,

    Chuck

I heard a rumor that there will be a Jamba Juice and Peet’s Coffee, but that is totally unconfirmed

  4. Chuck says:

I heard the same rumor too. I think Jamba juice is unlikely since they just opened one in the San Carlos Market (Industrial & Howard.) Tough to say about Peet’s. San Carlos already has 3 Starbuck’s and a handful of independents….

Regardless, it will be interesting to see who takes up the ground floor. Thanks for your comment!

I am very interested in the new condo development in San Carlos. I called the number listed last week, and the woman that I spoke to was not helpful, AT ALL! She had no idea what the prices might be or when the model would be opening. I could do better marketing PR than that!

  6. adam says:

It is unfortunate that the City’s first foray into density of this scale is so poorly done. It draws a big bullseye for those against any density.

  7. Fran says:

Has a model opened yet? Have prices been established for the condo residences?

    Thanks Fran

      Hi Fran,

The sales office isn’t open yet, but they’re getting close (within 1 month.) The models that they will be using to show the different floor-plans are near completion (if they’re not completed already.) I think they’re just waiting to get most of the finishing touches on the whole facility before they open the sales office and start taking clients through, which is a smart idea because I think the building will be amazing when it shows at its best.

I took a tour of the facility about 10 days ago. I think you’ll be really impressed when you see it. Most of the units have nice high ceilings, and the decor is clean and modern. You really don’t feel like you’re in San Carlos when you’re sitting in the huge courtyard — they really did a nice job with it.

As they get closer to the opening date, they’ll update their website and will send updates to anyone who has registered on the site — so be sure to stay tuned. I’ll send out an update as soon as I hear anything further.

It has been a month since anything has posted regarding 1001 Laurel. Do we know any new information. I registered on the website and I have left messages to get price sheet etc., but so far no news.

If you know anything, please fill us in.

    Thanks,

    • Chuck says:

      Hi Dara,

I last corresponded with the management group at 1001 Laurel only 6 days ago, and they stated that they’re still putting the finishing touches on the place (driveway, off-street parking) and the opening should be about 1-2 weeks away — but nothing totally firm.

Regarding pricing, I have a pretty good idea where things will be listing but they have asked me not post it on this site. But if you want drop me an email, I’d be happy to discuss with you what I know.

      Thanks for the comment!

      Chuck
