1010 Sunset Dr. is our new house! While I was researching this property, I came across your blog back in April 08. I was originally concerned about the size of the street but your comment reassured me that there are other streets in San Carlos that are just as narrow and had no problem selling. I have been a big fan our your blog since. I hope we did our due diligence and made a good decision in the purchase of this house. Thank you for you and your blog.

    Hi Michelle,

Congratulations on your new home! Your patience paid off quite handsomely on this home — you got a really nice home for $100k below the original list price. And Sunset is really a great street because most homes have a sweet view, yet you’re still reasonably close to downtown. The best of both worlds!

There are definitely streets that are more narrow and steeper than Sunset — several up in Devonshire Canyon fall into that category, and they have no problem selling (of course, assuming they’re priced sensibly.)

I hope you have many years of enjoyment in your new home, and thanks for being a loyal reader of the blog!

    Chuck
