Want to know why home values in San Carlos are holding steady while communities in other parts of the Peninsula aren’t? A big reason is the  school district. San Carlos has long been known for its outstanding elementary and middle schools.   The latest California API scores were posted yesterday — here’s how San Carlos fared:

San Carlos Elementary School District: 873

Arundel Elementary: 897

Brittan Acres Elementary: 879

Charter Learning Center: 888

Heather Elementary: 850

White Oaks Elementary:  901

Central Middle School:  842

Tierra Linda Middle:   895

With scores like those, you can understand why families go out of there way to live here.
